For years, Ale has dedicated her life to bringing people together through Brazilian Zouk.
Whether she was teaching in São Paulo or traveling across the world to share her passion, Ale has always been more than an incredible instructor. She has inspired countless dancers and offered her time, knowledge, kindness, and encouragement to anyone who needed it. Those who know her know she is one of the strongest, fiercest, most independent women you'll ever meet. She is always the first to show up for others—and one of the last people to ask for help herself.
On August 14, Ale will undergo surgery to remove a brain tumor.
While we are incredibly hopeful for a successful surgery, the road ahead will be a long one. Her medical team anticipates that her recovery will take at least six months, during which she will be unable to teach, travel, or work as she normally does.
As many of you know, Ale's primary source of income comes from her work as a professional Brazilian Zouk instructor. Taking this much time away from teaching will create a significant financial challenge at a time when her focus needs to be entirely on healing.
This is one of those moments where our community has the opportunity to give back to someone who has given so much to all of us.
If you are able to make a donation—no matter the amount—it will help ease the financial burden of medical expenses, recovery, and everyday living costs while Ale takes the time she needs to heal. Donate on GoFundMe

If donating isn't possible, we completely understand. One of the most meaningful ways you can support Ale is by sharing her story with your friends, family, and dance communities. Every share helps us reach more people who have been touched by Ale's generosity and love for dance.
We also ask that you keep Ale in your thoughts and prayers. Your messages of encouragement, healing wishes, and positive energy will mean more to her than words can express as she begins this journey toward recovery.
There is another meaningful way to support Ale during this time. She is the founder of Urban Dance Shoes, a company she created to provide dancers with high-quality, comfortable shoes designed for social dancing and performance. If you've been thinking about purchasing a pair, now is a wonderful time to do so.
If you're visiting São Paulo, consider picking up a pair while you're here. If you aren't traveling, perhaps you know someone who is coming to São Paulo who could bring a pair back for you. Supporting Urban Dance Shoes not only helps sustain Ale during her recovery, but also allows you to enjoy an amazing product created with dancers in mind.
Ale has spent years investing in this community. Now it's our turn to invest in her.
Thank you for every donation, every share, every prayer, every kind message, and every act of support. Together, we can help give Ale the peace of mind to focus on what matters most—healing.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
